What you need

  • You must submit a duplicate, fully completed national-visa application form, biometric photos, and a valid passport. Personal and study-related documents: a tabular CV, a ZAV certificate specifying the internship placement AND a matriculation certificate from the university, plus a motivation letter. Livelihood: at least EUR 934/month, evidenced via a sponsor's declaration (Verpflichtungserklärung) or a blocked account, plus details of the intended accommodation including the rent. Medical insurance for the duration of the stay is required unless the internship contract shows that the employer/training establishment will arrange insurance; insurance evidence is to be submitted only after visa approval — the visa section will notify you by phone.
